1. This might seem obvious, but it’s surprising how many businesses get it wrong – if you’re using a QR code to direct mobile visitors to a website or page, make sure it’s a mobile-optimised one. Sending them to a site they can’t view properly defeats the purpose.

2. Include a text link. Having a link underneath a QR code, for people who can’t scan it, has been found to increase the number of visitors. If it’s a long url you can shorten it first at Bitly or Goo.gl.
